Press release: EU research project will enable development of “greener” IT products
A group of researchers will, with the research project ”ENTRA: Whole-Systems Energy Transparency”, promote “energy-aware” software development. The project will use advanced program analysis and modelling of energy consumption in computer systems to facilitate predictions of energy consumption early in the sofware design phase. Roskilde University, Denmark, is coordinator of the research project that started October 1st 2012. The project is funded the EU 7th Framework Programme, Future and Emerging Technologies (FET), and has an overall budget of 2.1 million Euro. Apart from Roskilde University the consortium consists of partners in the UK (University of Bristol and XMOS Ltd.) and Spain (IMDEA Software Institute, Madrid).
